Is there risk of recurrence after the treatment?

There is no causal treatment for HPV that can eliminate the virus from our body. We treat genital warts and premalignant lesions.

It is a common phenomenon to have relapses of lesions caused by HPVs (especially warts) after treatment. Recurrences of genital warts are more frequent within the first year from the day they first appeared.

This is because significant amounts of HPV remain in the lower genital tract and they are slowly suppressed by the immune system.
