What does the doctor see under the microscope when examining a biopsy and what are the possible diagnoses?

They see the epithelium and the area under the epithelium, called stroma. They examine the morphology of the cells and the structure of the epithelium.

The possible diagnoses are:
• Normal epithelium
• Infection of the epithelium by HPV
